As a regulator of the system, and your partner in our collective efforts to mold the minds of young girls and boys into productive citizens, we would hope that the alarming unaffordable hike in tuition and other fees will not serve as an impediment thereto.
Findings from the Special Taskforce constituted to probe the matter, revealed that many schools effectuated increase of more that 30% in their tuition from the previous year without consultation with the Ministry of Education. In as much as you are a private institution with the right to make certain decision that would help sustain your organization, but the right definitely cannot be enjoyed unchecked.
With this, the Ministry of Education as the sole regulator of the sector and guarantor of equal access to quality education for all children across Liberia, herein request that your institution refrains from applying and unjustifiable increase in tuition/fees for the preceding academic year.
